For home buyers and buyer's agents in Australia: give us the address, and we check the neighbouring addresses against public records and send a report — public, community, private or unknown for each, with the source.

Buyer's agent shortlisting a house in a Melbourne suburb before an auction on Saturday. Thursday morning she orders a check: 8 neighbouring addresses. Friday morning the report shows 6 private, 1 community housing with a link to the record, 1 unknown. She discusses it with her client before the auction.
Choose your packageWhen you buy a home, the house itself is only part of the decision. Who lives next door, and whether the neighbouring houses are privately owned or held by a public or community housing provider, matters to many buyers. That information is rarely in the listing, and agents for the seller may not know it. Neighbour Check does a desk check of the addresses around a property before you make an offer.
You give us the address of the property you are considering and, if you like, which neighbouring addresses matter most to you — the houses on both sides, across the street, behind the back fence. If you do not choose, we select the addresses that are closest to the property.
Each address is checked against public records available online: registers and published lists of public and community housing, and other open sources. The check is done by a person, not only by an automatic match, so that unusual cases are looked at properly.
The report lists each address with one of four results: public housing, community housing, private, or unknown when the records do not allow a clear answer. Every result has its source, so you can see where it comes from. The report is sent by email, usually within 24 hours.
Buyer's agents who check several properties a month can choose a monthly package and order checks for each shortlisted property, with reports branded for their clients.
There is no login and no account to create for a single check: you enter the address, pay and receive the report by email.
A desk check is not an inspection. It does not tell you about the people living at an address, about noise or behaviour, or about future sales of neighbouring houses. It tells you what public records show about ownership type at the time of the check.
Neighbour Check is for private buyers and buyer's agents in Australia. Results depend on what public records show; records can be incomplete or out of date.
If you are looking at several properties at once, you can order a check for each of them and compare the reports side by side. When a purchase falls through and you return to the market, a new check can be ordered for the next shortlisted address in the same way, and earlier reports stay available in your email.
Neighbour Check is not a government agency and does not give legal or financial advice. Your decision to buy remains yours.
